I was born on November 2, 1995 in Vancouver Washington. Whenever my birth place happens to come up in a conversation , everyone always thinks I was born in Vancouver, Canada. But, I wasn't.
Family
What is life like as a middle child? Many might wonder that very thing. Most people see families with the youngest child as the baby getting everything they want and the oldest child with all of the responsibility, and the middle child getting lost somewhere in between. But, this was not the case in my family.
I have a younger brother and an older sister, which would make me the middle child. I have a mom, Heather, and a step-dad, Demetrius. My mom is an elementary school teacher and my stepdad is a hearing specialist. I have a relatively small family. My grandma and my uncle both live about 5 minutes away. My biological father currently lives in Washington, and he remarried a woman named Leslie.
Childhood
What is life like as a middle child? Many might wonder that very thing. But, this was not the case in my family.
After I was born, I lived in Washington for about 2 years. (Just long enough for my brother to be born there.) After my brother was born, my family moved back down here to sunny San Diego.
When I was a baby, I was afraid of everyone except for my mother. I will forever be a momma’s girl. My mom has told me a bunch of times that she used to have to go to the grocery store in the middle of the night because I used to cry so much. And, I also happened to be one of the clumsiest children ever. Throughout school, I would trip all throughout the hallways and on the playground.
Hobbies
Ever since I can remember, I have played sports. I have played soccer since I was 5 and I still play today and I plan on playing in the future. My whole childhood revolved around sports and I don't know where I would be without them. (Probably not injured but thats a different story.) I grew up on a soccer field and today it’s one of the only places I feel completely comfortable. Throughout my childhood I have played a
variety of sports. When I was really little, probably around 6, I did gymnastics and tap dancing. Then, not that long after I played a year of softball. I decided I didn’t really care for softball that much so I started playing basketball and volleyball. From 4th to 8th grade I played those 2 sports as well as soccer. Then, when I got into high school I continued playing soccer and volleyball. Now that I’m a senior, I believe I played my last season of volleyball , but I will always continue to play soccer.
Anecdotes
When I was in 5th grade, I broke my thumb. One day, I was home alone with my sister and she started calling me from upstairs. As I started going up the stairs, I tripped after the first 2 steps. I tried to stop my fall but while I did that I jammed my thumb in between the steps. My sister saw how hurt I was and started freaking out. She ended up calling my mom and and my mom decided to wait awhile before taking me to the doctor. My mom thought that I would be okay going to school for 3 days before taking me to the doctor to get x-rays. But, when she finally did take my the x-rays ended up showing that I had a fracture near a growth plate in my thumb. I had a cast on for 9 weeks. After this incident, my mother never waited to take my to the doctor again.
Another time when I was about 7, my sister gave me rope burn. It was in the afternoon, I was in front of my house playing hopscotch. My sister got the brilliant idea to tie a wagon to the end of her bike. She used used this really stretchy elastic string that is not very supportive at all. So, of course the wagon broke off. My sister continued to ride her bike around with the string still attached. She rode around me a few times and the rope ended up getting caught around my ankle. Each time she circled it got tighter and tighter. While she was riding away, I started screaming because the rope was digging into my skin. I kept yelling at her to stop of course she didn't. Then finally, she stopped riding and realized I was hurt. I still have a scar to this day.
Future
In the future, I plan on being either a physical therapist or an athletic trainer. I will attend a university in California. EVer since I can remember I wanted to be a doctor. But in the past few years I narrowed down the specific job I want. I love just love helping people and I find both athletic training and physical therapy very interesting. And, physical therapists make a lot of money which isn’t bad either! When I was a baby, I was afraid of everyone except for my mother. I will forever be a momma’s girl.
